Manitou Springs COVID-19 Emergency Fund

In the spring of 2020, the Manitou Springs Community Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Manitou Springs, Manitou Springs Urban Renewal Authority, Manitou Emergency Recovery Fund, Manitou Springs Education Foundation, Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce, Pikes Peak Community Foundation and a number of local residents, established an emergency fund to help people living or working in Manitou Springs who had been severely impacted by COVID-19.

In the first two weeks, the fund raised $123,000 and distributed $500 to each of the 246 qualifying individuals. Thank you to all who made this possible.

We also organized a group of community members to make face coverings and distributed 300 to city staff, the police department, the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, the business community, community residents and visitors.

The Foundation also provided a $5000 grant to the City of Manitou Springs to help with the COVID-19 response. These funds will be used for temporary signs, masks, gloves or other protective equipment, plastic office dividers, hand sanitizer or other products or services specifically related to the virus. We were delighted to be able to support our City and to continue the strong partnership and collaboration in helping our community respond to this pandemic.

To avoid our having to pay a hefty service charge, please consider sending your donation to the Manitou Springs Community Foundation, 304 Michigan Ave., Manitou Springs, CO 80829.

Thank you for your help and support!
