Join our Manitou Springs Student Initiative
Imagine a community where every child walks into school feeling safe, eager to learn, and fully supported. We at the Manitou Springs Community Foundation are ready to help guide this audacious goal. What we we need most, is your hearts and hands to make this happen.
In partnership with D14, Kidpower, and Peak Education, we've mapped out a short term vision—209 empowered Kidpower students participating in classroom programs and workshops to light their way, and 50 Peak Education scholars with guidance through their educational journey. This is just the beginning and isn't just about numbers; it's about carving paths for futures filled with possibility.
With ever shrinking school budgets, we are determined not to let the lack of funding stand in the way of this work. The leadership teams from both non-profits and the District, have determined that it would take approximately $40,000 for each organization or $80,000 total, to expand their long standing footprint in D14.
To kick things off, the Jaray Family Impact Fund has created a challenge grant of $10,000 for each organization. To support that, the Community Foundation Board has approved an additional $10,000 for each organization from a recent estate bequest from the late, Ken Olson. We have also raised an additional $11,000 from members of our community. With over $25,000 secured for each organization, for a total of $51,000, we are more than halfway there! All we now is your help.
Here's how you can be the spark. Your contribution will be split 50 / 50 between Kidpower and Peak Education unless otherwise indicated. Your gift could be the one that changes a life!
